"Two-and-a-half years ago, I gave birth to twins and quickly became convinced that my pre-Mommy body was gone forever. Before my pregnancy I was 5’7” tall and weighed 126 pounds, not fit but at least thin.
No one was calling me thin any more. I gained nearly 60 pounds during the pregnancy and lost only 18 lbs. from the birth.
Despite a hectic schedule as a new stay-at-home mom I wasn’t losing any weight – in fact I was gaining. After six months I decided to do something and fast. I joined a group exercise class that promised a complete workout in only 30 minutes. I managed to go 4 times a week but nothing was happening. I always felt rushed by the instructor who seemed most interested in just getting us out the door.
I also joined the diet group where you buy all of your meal pre-made from them. I did lose 15 pounds, but then couldn’t seem to drop any more weight. I got tired of the food and the hassles of the program so I stopped. The weight came back.
About a year ago a new friend told me about Joe. I went in and Joe explained how strength training would build muscle, burn fat and boost my metabolism. It wasn’t going to take any more time that I was spending before, and my training sessions wouldn’t make me feel self-conscious like I did in those group classes.
